Eker and Shakira

Friday 4th of December, Bård Eker guested Fredrik Skavlan and his famous skandinavian talk show SKAVLAN.
Bård told his version of the SAAB aquisition attempt - which was given up two weeks ago. 2.850.000 watched the show at NRK1 in Norway and SVT in Sweden - with Shakira and Dolph Lundgren as other guests.

Eker Design for Aesthesis

For Aesthesis, Eker Design have played an important part of developing the High End loudspeaker; Aesthesis Gramophone.
Eker Design did the 3D modelling and CNC milling for the tool fabrication for the Carbon Fibre part production.

NLV Quant

Solar Electric Propulsion

Eker Design have been responsible of developing the new static model NLV Quant. NLV Solar AG, a Swiss company active in the field of Photovoltaic cells and revolutionary electrical energy storage accumulators, commissioned Koenigsegg, the Swedish Supercar company, to design and engineer a 4-seater electric car, incorporating NLV´s core technologies. A natural step for Koenigsegg was to turn to Eker Design when the time came to create a full scale mock-up car with class-A surfacing. In very short time, 6 weeks, Eker Design has again proven its capabilities to work efficiently under time pressure and managed to deliver to Koenigsegg the pristine model just in time for the Geneva motor show.  

The Quant project gave us the chance to utilize and showcase our expertise when it comes to class-A surfacing and full scale modeling. We are now ready and keen to be a part of the next steps in the exiting Quant program, that sets out to change personal transport in a big way.

Environmentally acceptable speedphantom.

- Now is the perfect timing to develop environmentally friendly cars. But it`s not to focus on the established automakers as GM, Ford or Chrysler, they should give the new manufactures a chance.

Shell Eco-marathon #1

Eight students studying industrial design on the 3. year at Østfold University College, has since August 2008 developede a new car to race in the Shell Eco Marathon. Victor Rosenvinge at Eker Design has been the mentor for the students during this process, and Eker Design has even been involved in the CAD work and milling of the tools for the main shape of the car body. The final result were unveiled 28th of April 2009 at Aker Brygge in Oslo.
Even the norwegian television TV2 were interested in this project, and interviewed the students after the unveiling.

The eight students from Østfold University College, wich Eker Design sponsored both in the development process and the physical modelling, are now at The EuroSpeedway Lausitz in Germany. The race are to begin, and the students did the qualifying rounds with good margin.

The competition is over for the eight students from Østfold University College, but they did not come home empty-handed. They won the prestigious Design Award, for combineing aesthetic elegance, aerodynamic efficiency and excellent engineering. In the last race they also drove longer on one liter of fuel than any other car from their university has done before, regardless of class.

Eker Design doing grafic design on Cookson 50

One of the faster sailboats in Scandinavia has now been renamed from Al Capone to Camilla, and decorated by Eker Design. The sailboat will compete through the summer in different races. The grafic look is important on a sailboat like this, and we are proud of being able to provide our services doing the grafic design, cutting and adding the foil to the sailboat.

New Techrider Flexdoll

Techrider recently launched their first Flexdoll patented product: The visualizing and inspirational Terje Haakonsen signature model and within first quarter of 2009, Techrider will introduce additional signature models of other epic riders such as Mads Jonsson, JP Solberg, Nicolas Müller, Romain De Marchi and Tadashi Fuse.

Eker Design has been one of several key partners during the development phase of the product, especially with prototyping and testing of different materials as well using our network to find different suppliers.

We have long experience in use 3D engineering software as our main engineering tool, and have gained unvalued experience in how to use the right tool for the right task.
