RED DOT AWARD to Eker Design for EasyRoller

Bård Eker and Eker Design collected 5th of July the highly respected international Design Award RED DOT. The Eker Team received the award for it outstanding design- and engineering work with the EASY ROLLER. This is the worlds first wheelchair made 100% in composites. The Red Dot Design Award is an international design price award institution. Designers from all around the world was honored with a great award party in Essen.
The Jury highlights:
“Functional elements – such as the steering handle, armrest and tip stop – are intelligently integrated into the design, lending the wheelchair an overall welcoming appearance.”
The Red Dot Design Award dates back to 1955 and is now the world`s largest and most distinguished design competition. It breaks down into the three disciplines `red dot award: product design`, `red dot award: communication design` and `red dot award: design concept`. There were almost 14,000 entries from 68 countries in the year 2010 alone.
